Kick-off meeting in Brașov

DIGITAL-PALL Project Kick-Off in Brașov

On 11 and 12 December 2025, the five partner organisations of the DIGITAL-PALL project held their kick-off meeting at the HOSPICE Casa Speranței Study Centre for Palliative Care in Brașov, Romania.

Representatives from HOSPICE Casa Speranței and Asociatia Hospice Eliana (Romania), Galilee Palliative Care Unit (Greece), Universidad de Navarra (Spain), and BELhospice (Serbia) gathered to meet as a team for the first time. The meeting was opened by Prof. Daniela Moșoiu, who invited everyone to introduce themselves both professionally and personally, a fitting start for a group that will be working together for the next three years.

Each work package was presented in turn, with discussion of planned activities, timelines, and responsibilities. Topics covered included the digital capacity assessment of palliative care clinicians and educators, the design of online educational curricula for paediatric and non-oncological palliative care, the development of a digital care pathway and toolkit for clinical teams, as well as the plans for communication and dissemination strategy.

Several decisions were made on the spot: an external Advisory Board will be set up to oversee the quality of educational programmes; bi-monthly management meetings will be held online; and research protocols for the needs assessment are to be drafted and submitted for ethical approval in early 2026.

The project runs until August 2028 and is co-funded by the European Union.
