Hospice Casa Speranței (Romania)

Hospice Casa Speranței is a pioneer of palliative care in Romania and the coordinator of the DIGITAL-PALL project.

With more than 30 years of experience, it has played a leading role in developing palliative care services, education, and policy at both the national and regional levels. The organisation provides free, comprehensive care for patients with cancer and other life-limiting conditions, including home-based care, inpatient units, outpatient services, and day centres.

In parallel, Hospice Casa Speranței has significantly contributed to the development of palliative care education, training thousands of healthcare professionals and supporting the integration of palliative care into healthcare systems through advocacy and collaboration with national authorities.

‘Galilee’ Palliative Care Centre (Greece)

‘Galilee’ Palliative Care Centre is a non-profit palliative care organisation in Greece, providing free services for adult patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

Since its establishment in 2010, it has developed a comprehensive model of care that includes home-based services, a day centre, bereavement support, and an inpatient unit. Its interdisciplinary team delivers holistic care, addressing medical, psychological, social, spiritual and practical needs.

‘Galilee’ Palliative Care Centre plays a key role in advancing access to care in Greece. Alongside clinical work, it contributes to education and training, offering hands-on experience to students and healthcare professionals. It also engages in innovative initiatives that connect care with the wider community, including creative projects that help raise awareness and open conversations around serious illness, loss, and grief.

Universidad de Navarra (Spain)

The University of Navarra is a leading international university and research institution, with strong expertise in palliative care, education, and innovation.

Through its ATLANTES Research Group, a WHO Collaborating Centre for palliative care development, the university contributes to advancing education, research, and global understanding of palliative care, with a focus on dignity, quality of life, and patient-centred care.

The university has extensive experience in European projects and plays a key role in developing evidence-based educational approaches, including innovative training programmes and digital solutions for healthcare professionals.

Asociatia Hospice Eliana (Romania)

Hospice Eliana is a non-governmental organisation providing palliative care services to patients with life-limiting conditions and their families, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Since its establishment in 2017, it has developed home-based care and outpatient services, offering free support through a model based on community engagement and private funding. The organisation focuses on reaching patients in remote areas, ensuring access to care where services are often limited.

Alongside clinical work, Hospice Eliana is actively involved in training healthcare professionals and caregivers, contributing to the development of palliative care skills and services at the local and national level.

BELhospice (Serbia)

BELhospice is the first specialised charitable organisation for palliative care in Serbia and a leading provider of services, education, and advocacy in this field.

Since its establishment in 2004, it has been delivering comprehensive support to patients with life-limiting conditions and their families, combining medical, psychological, and social care through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach.

In addition to clinical work, BELhospice plays a key role in raising awareness and advancing palliative care development in Serbia. Through education, public engagement, and participation in international projects, it contributes to strengthening professional capacities and improving access to care.
